    Hi

When the DR system powerHA started, the process of synchronizing volume between servers takes a long time.

As the volume sync time increase, the powerHA startup time increases and eventually the RTO increases.

When start powerHA, there is a volume synchronization process between servers.

cspoc.log keeps running the commands below.
    ==> cl_updatevg -cspoc -g p1ficdb_RG -d9 -C vgXXficp
    (vg03ficp ~ vg63ficp).

cl_updatevg did not run every time powerHA started
When cl_updatevg runs, it takes about 1:30 minutes to start hacmp.

    Question
I would like to know if there is a way to reduce the synchronization time between HACMP servers.
To meet RTO 3 time, i need to skip the cl_updatevg or sync process.
I want to know what condition cl_updatevg runs

    Hello Jong Ho Baek,
I am not sure from the information provided (so I may be suggesting the obvious), but have you considered using enhanced concurrent volume groups to enable fast disk takeover?
Please let me know if you need further information

    Hello Antony Steel,

Yes there are already concurrent volume groups applied.

received relevant information through the analysis of the TSS team.

For consistency, TSS team concluded that cl_updatevg could not be skipped.

    Thanks for your support. :)

    Hello Jong Ho Baek,
Thank you for the feedback - I agree that the update shouldn't be skipped, but I am surprised that it still takes a long time with enhanced concurrent volumes.  Have you determined which step is taking the longest - and is there any way to speed it up?

    Keep well,

    Hello, Antony Steel

The current state is taken over by the DR site.

Maybe when PowerHA is started on the DR site the timestamps don't match, so the operation cannot be skipped.

Also, there are no specifics in the behavior and version of PowerHA.

    thank ~

    Hello Jong Ho Baek,
    Sorry I missed your reply.
I think I missed the critical point - you don't have PowerHA running at DR - can you describe the environment in a bit more detail - and please let me know the PowerHA version, as there have been changes in behaviour.

    Keeps safe.
