It's time to celebrate as we unveil PowerVC 2.0.0 that comes with all new look and exciting features.

Yes, you heard it right! PowerVC version 2.0.0 is out now!

IBM® Power® Virtualization Center version 2.0.0 comes with a completely new UI, many new features and enhancements. We are more than delighted to listen to our client requirements and implement the same along with our benchmark innovation strategies that take PowerVC to the next level every release.

PowerVC 2.0.0 has lot many features for you to explore. In a nutshell, you can take a look at What's new!

    Fixes

    Although a little less exciting than new support, there are a couple of fixes too. These are the APAR fixes included with this release:
    • IT34536 - PowerVC displays rounded off values for processing units on the VM page.
    • IT34690 - Live migration fails after shutting down one of the VIOSes in dual VIOS of the NovaLink.
    • IT34745 - Enablement of RedHat cloud-init support with RHEL8.3.

    PowerVC 2.0 is NOT packaged with the existing AIX bundle, If you received PowerVC 1.4.x via your AIX bundle, and want PowerVC 2.0, Please contact your sales rep to purchase PowerVC 2.0

    Opening a case to post sales support will result in an answer suggesting you contact your IBM Sales contact , Post sales support cannot provide you product

    Hi Imranuddin, 

    PowerVC is not listed there. My customer did not license PowerVC as seperate product but it is part of the AIX Enterprise Edition License. Unfortunately the latest version offered there is 1.4.4. 
    I'll go ahead and open a case ticket to have this checked.

    PowerVC 2.0 comes with new PIDs
    5765-VC2 and 5765-VS2 are the new PIDs to product and the Editions are renamed
    5765-VC2 - PowerVC for Private Cloud
    5765-VS2 - PowerVC

    How to get PowerVC 2.0 ? Please follow below steps:

    Start on page: https://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/ess/ProtectedServlet.wss Authenticate on this page with the correct IBMid
    then “My entitled software”
    “Software downloads”
    ”By category”
    choose your customer number or let by default “all available”
    don’t select AIX Enterprise
    but scroll down until PowerVC 2.0 appears

    Same situation here for us (in Germany) and it is now 4 days past GA.

    @IBM: When will it be made available via ESS? It would be perfect to get a peek during the calmer days of the year.

    Hmmm,

    Please share if this is globally available now or only in certain countries or regions.

    I am in US and I am unable to find PowerVC v2.0 on the Entitled software site.
