What’s new in PowerSC 2.2.0.4:

In the 2.2.0.4 release, we have added many exciting enhancement to IBM PowerSC:

Compliance profile updates:

  • Selective apply/undo features are being added to the compliance profiles in IBM PowerSC. This feature will allow AIX and Linux clients to re-run individual rules rather than an entire profile and allows failed rules to be marked as “exceptions” if they do not apply in a particular environment. By having this selective apply/undo feature, clients will save time and have improved performance when they run individual rules rather than the entire profile.

Security updates:

  • IBM PowerSC has added server support on IBM i, which will allow IBM i clients to have the ability to install the PowerSC server directly on IBM i
  • The Quantum Safe Inventory scanning capability has been added to IBM PowerSC to allow AIX users the ability to scan for ciphers and certs. This will allow clients to begin that first step of their Quantum Safe journey to obtain inventory of their ciphers and certs
  • Trusted Network Connect (TNC) has the following enhancements:
    • TNC enhancements have been included to allow AIX clients to do Live Kernel Updates via the PowerSC UI
    • TNC has updates related to the user interface, which allows clients to add configurability to fspolicy and to update multiple VMs from the UI
  • PowerSC UI improvements have been made to the homepage. It includes additional widgets to display storage info on Server, Ransomware status for each agent, and additional enhancements
  • A new Health Report has been added to give a summary of endpoint connection status and if virus detection software is installed or not on each agent
  • Generic event acceptance allows security events from non-UI agent sources and provides AIX clients with a single point of console for all the events currently produced by PowerSC components as well as (other) application logs
  • IBM PowerSC has added a “What’s New” section under the settings so clients can see what had been added in the newest release of the software while they are using the software
  • A malware scanner has been added to the PowerSC user interface to schedule ClamAV Db update and adjust max-binary-filesize-to-scan. This is an on-access scanning option for Linux
