IBM PowerSC 2.2.0.3 Release Notification

What’s new in PowerSC 2.2.0.3:

In the 2.2.0.3 release, we have added many exciting enhancement to IBM PowerSC:

Compliance profile updates:

  • The PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS v4) profile for AIX and RHEL has been updated with substantial changes that will provide a baseline of technical and operational requirements designated to protect payment data.
  • The CIS Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 Benchmark, V2.0 has been added and will provide enhanced security and additional hardening of the system. It has substantial updates from the CIS Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 Benchmark.
  • The CIS v2.0.0 profile for IBM i v7.5 has substantial updates from the CIS benchmark for IBM i 7.4.

Security updates:

  • The IBM PoweSC GUI has been redesigned to display important information in a better format. This enhancement includes the following updates:
    • The Compliance dashboard now shows the total and failed status for the "apply" and "check" operations.
    • The Reports Compliance Detail page and the related email notifications also contain the total and failed status for the "apply" and "check" operations.
    • The ability to extend the File Integrity Management (FIM) search functionality to filenames has been added, which eliminates the need to type out the full directory path.
    • The ability to restart endpoints from the PowerSC GUI has been added.
    • The malware database can now be updated from the PowerSC GUI.
    • The ability to delete a single event or a range of events can now be done from the Event Analysis page.
  • Updates have been made to the PowerSC policy enforcement groups to reduce the administrative overhead that is required to manage security profiles in a system. Updates are as follows:
    • Compliance enforcement on members of a specified group
    • New additions to the group will get an automatic enforcement
    • Automatic scheduled check will be conducted to detect compliance drift
  • Support for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Version 9.x has been added to PowerSC. 
  • The ability to download ifix data from FLRT JSON files has been added. PowerSC can use Fix Level Recommendation Tool (FLRT) JSON files for patch management accuracy via TNC.
  • The pmconf replicate user primary_user command from the secondary TNCPM host can be used to set the user for SSH connections from the secondary host to the primary host.
  • The ability to download High Impact PERvasive (HIPER) fixes has been added. You can edit the tncpm.conf file to download HIPER fixes.
