Accelerate Automation with IBM® Power®

By Brandon Pederson posted Tue November 28, 2023 06:19 PM

IT teams embracing hybrid cloud and new cloud-native technologies are challenged by specialist skills shortages for managing and administrating infrastructure and applications. Clients tell us they are looking to streamline operations and processes to maintain business and service continuity, redirect teams and employees to higher business value-added tasks, and digitize and automate manual processes, such as mortgage approval in the banking and financial services industry. IBM addresses these resource and skills challenges with a suite of AI-driven tools that help IT organizations overcome these obstacles. We’ve identified three “engagement patterns” or entry points where clients can begin when starting on their automation journey:

Automate Repetitive IT Administration and Management Tasks

Red Hat® Ansible® Automation Platform is an end-to-end automation platform to configure systems, deploy software, and orchestrate advanced workflows. Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform components now run natively on IBM Power. Clients can consolidate their environments and run Ansible Automation Platform on the same Power servers where their business-critical workloads are already running, instead of having to run Ansible automation hub and controller on separate x86 processor-based servers to manage Power endpoints. Get started with Red Hat Ansible on Power here.

Right-Size Infrastructure for Applications and Speed Problem Resolution

Monitor your entire infrastructure environment from a single dashboard and user interface with Instana Observability for Power. Leverage Turbonomic with Power to avoid over-provisioning and increase the number of workloads through utilization per server with AI-driven optimization. Proactively prevent issues before they occur with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps for Power.

Streamline Operations with Consistent Management of VMs and Containers

Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes controls clusters and applications from a single console on Power with built-in security policies. Redirect headcount to higher value tasks with self-service cluster deployment that automatically delivers applications. Streamline security compliance with centralized policy enforcement across clusters. Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes is included with Red Hat OpenShift Platform Plus and is supported on Power.
