Majority of defense providers and organizations seek to implement the digital engineering (DE) principles outlined by the US DoD. The objectives of DE is to shorten delivery times of defense systems and increase confidence of the agencies that the ordered systems will indeed support the expected capabilities, and enable agility processes to apply necessary changes as systems design is progressing. In the core of DT foundations is model based engineering, establishing digital threads across all engineering data sources, manage trusted sources of truth, and enable cross lifecycle analytics, which are the DE backbone capabilities. While model based engineering practices has relatively progressed, organizations are still stumbling on how to effectively implement the DE backbone among various cross discipline modeling environments, alm and plm providers, etc.
In this webinar we will present a practical, open, and standards based approach to implement the DE backbone. We will demonstrate how the core technological DE imperatives are implemented in open and heterogeneous environments.
