  • 1.  Move Sites and Installations to another Installation

    Posted Mon February 08, 2021 10:12 AM
    Hi,

How would I move a site or installation and all subordinate objects (subinstallations, property, buildings, assets, facilities, projects) to under another installation using either the Gui or sql?

I dragged and dropped under geo/location installations but only the cstinstallation table changed,  There were no changes in the ibs_spec_assignments table.
The parent, child, installation records all pointed to the original installation and not the new installation.

If there's a link to a howto document on this please send it.

    Thanks,

    Victor

    Dear Victor,

Could you please tell me what do you mean by Installation? What kind of object do you use?
What do you mean by Move an Installation? (please expand)

    The hierarchy is from county/city/installation/site.

An installation can be cut and pasted underneath another installation in the Geo/Location Hierarchy but this change isn't reflected in any associated object, it only updates the cstinstallation record.

I'm looking for a solution that would make the changes in all related objects.

    Thanks,  Victor

    Hi Victor –

We created "helpers" to do this – like patch helpers –

We call them "movers" and they will move everything from bldgs to lockers to assets, space allocations, etc. in addition to moving accompanying associations appropriately.

You create it with a "to" and a "from"

Then you pick from a pick list -  these below plus a few others

    • Assets
    • Locker assignments
    • Space assignments

    Then you run it.

    Regards,

    Sandy

Where do I find the 'helpers' and is there one that moves a complete location (site) to another geography?

    HI Victor,

    We created them.

You will need to create yourself from the various types of functionality that Tririga has.

Everyone's deployment is different and there are different versions of Tririga and different available functionality.

We often do presentations of various items we have developed.  If we do one on these types of helpers, I can be sure to post here.

Most people develop their own according to their needs.

    Regards,

    Sandy
