Very often developers are a little bit lazy, especially with a somewhat obscure setting like the compute mode of the compute node. And, because some of the settings works almost all the time, that settings becomes the default for the developer. But, as we will see in this lecture, picking the wrong compute mode can have a very negative impact om performance.

Speaker: Francois van der Merwe worked in the integration field since 1995, starting with MQSeries. In 1999 Francois incorporated IIB (aka Message Broker) in his portfolio. During the last 17 years he programmed, designed, architected and debugged many integration systems in Africa and specifically in South Africa. As a pedantic programmer he spent a lot of his time finding faster and better ways of writing code in IIB.

Today, as an IBMer in the Hybrid cloud field, he assists customers with integration solutions and quality assurance engagements.
