Two global IP addresses for one Aspera High-Speed Transfer server license

We are users of Aspera High-Speed Transfer Server 500 Mbps.

We are successfully using the Aspera during this four years for our WEB server.

Now we are planning to replace the hardware of our Aspera server,

and preparing and setting up a new server computer.

During this transition period, we want to install and test the Aspera for two different machines with two different global IP addresses.

However, I remembered someone told me our license is allowed to be used only for one global IP address.

Is it possible to (temporarily) use Aspera for two machines with two different IP address using one license ?

Technically, the Aspera server license file is not associated to a specific system (no host id), but the commercial license allows to use it on one system at a time only.

The license file can be migrated from one system to another without notice provided it is not used on two systems at the same time.

Nevertheless, the general IBM license terms allow an exception in case of migration (your case), see:

    https://www-40.ibm.com/software/sla/sladb.nsf/pdf/policies/$file/tempaddluse.pdf

Another possibility is to contact the IBM seller or IBM partner and request a temporary license file, usually valid for 1 month, which will allow you to prepare and test the new system. After validation simply move the license file from old system to new, and delete it on old system.
