  • 1.  MQClient Doesn't Work After Upgrade (Upgrade via setup.exe)

    Posted Tue October 15, 2024 08:09 AM

I just upgraded our MQ Client application FROM 9.1.0.7 TO 9.3.5.1 automatically using setup.exe which downloaded from ibm.
I was thinking on installing new version, after success, deleting the old version. But setup tool told me that it may upgrade automatically.
Thats why I didn't take backup, now it doesn't work after new version(9.3.5.1).
I need quick and correct way to fix these problem. Could you please help me ?

Hi , what do you mean with "doesn't" work? Any error message you can share?

I too would be curious to know what problems you see that you need to fix.

Additionally, since you are talking about a client and not a queue manager, you should simply be able to install the old version you had again, either alongside, or by removing the new and reinstalling the old one, and go back to where you were. There is no state that needed to be backed up.

    Cheers,

Wouldn't changes to the generic mqclient.ini go bye, bye? That's why you're encouraged to copy it to the directory of your application so that customizations don't get lost...
