Hello MQ Community users,
My customer wants to know if he will be entitled for defect support in case he deploys Microsoft Cluster Virtualized MQ (Queue Managers in VMs) on VMWare ESXi (v6.x).
Looking into IBM MQ support position for Virtualization & HA posted at URL ->
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-mqs-support-position-virtualization-low-level-hardware-file-systems-networks-and-high-availability
it mentions:
"..Defect support is available for Virtualization environments where they relate to releases of the operating system supported by IBM MQ..
Unless stated otherwise, IBM MQ has not been specifically tested in Virtualization environments. IBM MQ Support is therefore unable to assist in issues related to configuration and setup, or issues that are directly related to the Virtualization environment itself.."
Furthermore, looking into IBM Server Virtualization Policy for IBM Software posted at URL ->
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/server-virtualization-policy-ibm-softwareit is stated that:
"..While IBM software products have dependencies on operating systems, most IBM software products are designed to be neutral to hypervisor technologies. IBM plans to support the following operating systems and hypervisors that these operating systems are hosted on.
VMware ESXi Server with Windows Server operating system, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) on x86-64 systems.."
Do I have to create a service request for this, in order to have a formal response?
Any advise will be much appreciated.
Cheers Nick.
