    Thank you to all the participants who attended this year's Middleware Mash-Up in Dallas. The event, held at Topgolf in The Colony near Dallas on November 8th, 2023 was a notable gathering for those involved in IBM MQ.<o:p></o:p>

    The day commenced with a Networking Breakfast, giving participants the opportunity to connect and share their experiences with IBM MQ.<o:p></o:p>

    Ray Daniel from IBM initiated the sessions with a discussion on IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, detailing its ability to support various integration styles and adapt to different hosting environments.<o:p></o:p>

    David Ware, IBM MQ's Chief Architect, continued with a talk on the distinctions and applications of Apache Kafka versus IBM MQ, offering guidance on selecting appropriate technology for specific messaging and event streaming needs.<o:p></o:p>

    Nick Glowacki from IBM led the post-lunch session titled 'MQ in the Cloud', focusing on the architectural considerations and best practices for migrating MQ applications to cloud platforms like AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure, and Google Cloud.<o:p></o:p>

    An interactive 'Ask the MQ Experts' Q&A followed, where a panel of experts addressed diverse questions about IBM MQ environments from the participants.<o:p></o:p>

    Peter D'Agosta of Avada Software shared strategies for managing MQ in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, advising on how to prevent common modernization challenges. <o:p></o:p>

    A panel discussion on IBM MQ optimization, moderated by Nick Glowacki, featured insights from Greg Hanson, Dave Corbett, Miles Roty, and Peter D'Agosta. They shared valuable lessons and advice from their extensive experiences with optimization projects.<o:p></o:p>

    Miles Roty from TxMQ concluded the presentation portion with insights on achieving a highly available and budget-friendly IBM MQ in the cloud, discussing a case study with a logistics provider.<o:p></o:p>

    The event wrapped up with an after-party at Topgolf, providing a casual setting for participants to network and enjoy the interactive golf experience. <o:p></o:p>
