  • 1.  IBM MQ(NativeHA) needs AWS Cross Region (DR) support

I'm working on a small migration POC to using IBM MQ with NativeHA feature (i.e., multi-AZ) but need to have a DR solution too.

Since IBM MQ does not support Amazon S3 for Cross-Region data replication (CRDR) option and can only use Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS).

What options do I have? Snapshot? Anyone using Snapshot can tell me the delay? How trustworthy is it?

And what about IBM MQ Cluster with Cluster-Members with common Queues at both regions?

IBM is going to release multi region replication solution for IBM MQ using Native HA sometime in 2025 as far as I know. If you dont want to wait till then, you can look into using Portworx to replicate clusters in 2 different regions.

That's good news.... Anyone form the IBM's MQ group can confirm the Multi-Region for NativeHA solution?

As to Portworx, I did contact them and working on it.

    Thanks

As of version 9.4.2, MQ's Cross Region Replication capability is now available.
