Today IBM announced a new charge metric for DataPower Operations Dashboard. DataPower Operations Dashboard (DPOD) is a powerful tool providing central self-service, profiling, troubleshooting and management capabilities across the entirety of your IBM DataPower Gateways estate. Using DPOD, you can investigate DataPower services transactions and API-Connect API invocations processed by your DataPower Gateway cluster in near real time, down to the level of a single message.
The new VPC-based pricing links the DPOD entitlement to the VPC entitlement of DataPower Virtual Edition so they both can move in lock step without the need for counting gateways. A 12 VPC DataPower entitlement could be deployed as a single gateway, or several, without any difference in required DPOD entitlement.
Covers DataPower Virtual Edition both stand-alone and when bundled in other offerings, such as Cloud Pak for Integration
Simply match the VPC entitlement for DataPower Operations Dashboard to the deployment size of DataPower Virtual Edition.
· When sold stand-alone, DataPower Virtual Edition uses PVU-based pricing. IBM guidelines on the VPC charge metric define how to calculate necessary VPC entitlement quantity, but most of the time 70 PVU = 1 VPC.
· Cloud Pak for Integration deploys DataPower on a VPC metric, so matching DataPower Operations Dashboard is simply a matter of matching the VPC deployment of DataPower under Cloud Pak for Integration
DataPower Operations Dashboard provides deployment information on the DataPower Gateways it manages, making it simple to monitor and manage required DPOD entitlement
A single DataPower Operations Dashboard for your entire DataPower Estate
Use the per-gateway DPOD for physical DataPower appliances, or simple large-gateway deployments of DataPower Virtual Edition. Use the VPC-based DPOD for DataPower Virtual Edition deployments where individual gateways may be small, and the number of gateways dynamic.
Special API Use Case Support
The previously announced DataPower Operations Dashboard for Cloud Pak for Integration API Calls is an excellent choice for customers using the API Calls add-on to Cloud Pak for Integration. This version of DPOD is function is limited to API use cases and priced by API call volume. Simply match the DPOD entitlement volume to your API Calls entitlement volume – whatever the volume, the price relationship between DPOD and API Connect (via API Calls add-on) is fixed.
