Callable flow capability in IBM App Connect requires actions to continue working

As part of IBM Cloud's continuing security improvements, the current certificates used for callable flow connectivity from on-premises systems to IBM Cloud, as part of the App Connect Enterprise capability on IBM Cloud, must be regenerated by 25th March 2021. If you do not regenerate the certificates by this date, the callable flow capability will stop working.

These certificates are provided as part of the App Connect Enterprise capability on IBM Cloud and can be regenerated from the IBM App Connect UI. You can choose when to regenerate the certificates, but will need to restart all integration servers to pick up the new certificates. You will also need to manually update any on-premises agents with the new agentx configuration to get them working again. It should take approximately 15 mins to complete these actions.

Required actions

  1. From your App Connect on IBM Cloud instance, click Callable flows to open the "Callable flows" page. You should see a Reset switch button.

    Note: After you click this button, you will no longer be able to call your callable flows until you have completed all the following actions.

  2. Click Reset switch. reset switch Then restart all your callable flows and reconfigure connectivity between your flows on IBM Cloud and on-premises as described in the remaining steps.

  3. Reconnect your on-premises App Connect Enterprise integration servers as follows:
    1. For each integration server, complete the steps here, replacing your existing agentx.json file with the new one you're instructed to download.
    2. Restart the integration server.

  4. Restart each integration server that is running in IBM App Connect on IBM Cloud:
    1. From the App Connect Dashboard, click the options menu on the integration server tile and then click Stop.
    2. When the state on the tile is shown as Stopped, click the options menu again and then click Start.

  5. Restart each flow with callable flow capability that is running in IBM App Connect on IBM Cloud:
    1. From the App Connect Dashboard, click the options menu on the flow tile and then click Stop.
    2. When the state on the tile is shown as Stopped, click the options menu again and then click Start.

Your callable flows should now be callable again.
