MQ for z/OS on Terminal Talk

By MATTHEW LEMING posted Thu May 27, 2021 04:41 AM

You might have come across the Terminal Talk podcast which talks about the technologies behind the mainframe. For a while now I have been meaning to get an MQ for z/OS episode on there. Originally this was a challenge because they wanted to do the recording on-site in Poughkeepsie, and it was hard getting that lined up. However, Coronavirus is a great leveler as everyone is now remote, so last week Matt Sunley and I did a "Back to School" session on MQ for z/OS. Explaining why messaging is important and talking about some of the capabilities of MQ for z/OS.

If you have listened to any of the Terminal Talk podcasts before, you will know there is often a fair bit of messing around and laughter. This was one no exception. And for the record, I really am not bitter about being called assistant Matt...

Hi Morag,

One of the disadvantages of a podcast is that I am not sure exactly where about you are referring to! I imagine it was professor Matt #1 who said that. Yes, we tend to use hybrid a lot these days especially when talking about clouds. We still use both words, but perhaps hybrid has become more common.
