Keep Your 10.15 or Earlier On Premises Products Running (License Keys and Metering)
After mid-January 2025, IBM will begin moving contacts and entitlements for existing Software AG customers and partners to IBM systems. If you are not able to take one or more of the actions described below, your contacts and entitlements have not yet been moved. Please try again later.
The instructions in this section will enable your webMethods 10.15 or earlier on premises products to continue working for as long as you maintain an active entitlement with IBM.
- Determine whether your contract is core-based or transaction-based (metered). If you aren't sure, review your contract or contact your IBM Sales Representative for help.
- Look in the product documentation for your webMethods 10.15 or earlier on premises products to find all the license key directories in your existing webMethods installation. If you stored license keys in any custom directories, find those directories as well.
- Copy your license keys and move the copies to a directory outside your existing webMethods installation.
- Open the keys with a text editor and find the lines that start with <ExpirationDate>. If you do not see expiration dates, you have a perpetual license and need take no further action. If you do see expiration dates, follow the steps below before the license key expiration dates.
Type of contract |
webMethods Products |
Steps to follow |
Core-based |
All products, 10.15 or earlier
|
- Go to IBM Support: Fix Central and click Find product. In the Product selector dropdown, type webMethods License Keys.
- Download the generic license keys for your products, and follow the instructions in the accompanying readme to apply the keys. The generic license keys disable metering.
- Restart your products.
|
Transaction-based (metered)
|
Integration Server, Trading Networks, API Gateway, and/or ActiveTransfer 10.7 or later (metered products)
|
- Download 10.15 or earlier IBM webMethods Update Manager as described elsewhere in this blog post.
- Apply fixes to each product as described below. The fixes cause the license key expiration dates to be ignored, but metering to continue.
Integration Server
Ideally, install these core fixes:
- IS_10.15_Core_Fix18
- IS_10.11_Core_Fix18
- IS_10.7_Core_Fix26
If you cannot install the core fixes, install the lightweight hotfixes listed below. The hotfixes only affect the licensing component, can be applied on top of any core fix level, and do not change any core Integration Server functionality.
Use the Support Patch feature of Update Manager to install the relevant hotfix using the key below. See the Update Manager documentation for instructions on how to install a support patch.
- Integration Server 10.15 support patch key: 1_PIE-96691_1
- Integration Server 10.11 support patch key: 1_PIE-96691_2
- Integration Server 10.7 support patch key: 1_PIE-96691_3
Hotfixes for 10.5 and 10.3 will be available soon.
API Microgateway
Use Update Manager to install the API Microgateway fix for your version:
ActiveTransfer
Use Update Manager to install the relevant ActiveTransfer fix for your version:
ActiveTransfer Gateway
- MAG_10.15_Fix1
- MAG_10.11_Fix1
- MAG_10.7_Fix1
ActiveTransfer Server:
- MAT_10.15_Server_Fix13
- MAT_10.11_Server_Fix24
- MAT_10.7_Server_Fix27
If the license key expiration dates are so soon that you do not have time to apply fixes, follow these steps:
- Download the generic license keys for your products, and follow the instructions in the accompanying readme to apply the keys. The generic license keys disable metering.
- As soon as possible, apply the fixes listed above.
- Move the license key copies you made earlier back into the license key directories. The license key copies re-enable metering.
- Restart your products.
|
Transaction-based |
Integration Server, Trading Networks, API Gateway, or ActiveTransfer 10.5 or earlier
All other products 10.15 or earlier
|
Same as core-based
Important! If you are using webMethods products 10.5 or earlier, please contact your IBM seller.

Details for IBM webMethods 11.1
Find Documentation for 11.1
Download Installer and Update Manager, or Command Central for 11.1
After mid-January 2025, IBM will begin moving contacts and entitlements for existing Software AG customers and partners to IBM systems. After your contacts and entitlements have been moved, you will be able to download IBM webMethods Installer and IBM webMethods Update Manager, or IBM webMethods Command Central so that you will be able to install the IBM webMethods 11.1 products when they become available. For instructions, see the IBM webMethods documentation for these tools. IBM webMethods 11.1 might be available in March 2025.
If you are not able to take one or more of the actions described above, your contacts and entitlements have not yet been moved. Please try again later.
Add Metering to 11.1 On Prem Installations
Metering is required for the usage-based products Integration Server/Microservices Runtime, Trading Networks, API Gateway, and ActiveTransfer. However, by default, metering is not enabled on new IBM webMethods 11.1 on-prem installations. To enable metering, first use Update Manager to install 11.1 fixes that include metering support for the usage-based products. The fixes are:
- Metering infrastructure: MTA_11.1_Fix2 metering (all installations)
- API Gateway: YAI_11.1_YAIC_Fix3
- Integration Server/Microservices Runtime: IS_11.1_Core_Fix3
- Trading Networks: TNS_11.1_Fix1
- ActiveTransfer Server: MAT_11.1_Server_Fix1
Then generate metering configurations, place them in your installations, and restart your products as explained here https://ibm.biz/metering-documentation
The usage-based products in the installations will start reporting transactions.
Note that if you have a usage-based contracts but do not enable metering, the products will continue to work. However, metering is contractually required for usage-based products, and the product GUIs and logs will report warnings at startup if metering is not enabled.
If your subscription includes both on prem and SaaS, you will automatically see a dashboard for your metering data in your SaaS environment.
If your subscription is on prem only, go to https://ibm.biz/BdGg5i and sign up for a self-hosted SaaS tenant that will show your metering data in a dashboard. If you are upgrading to 11.1 and you already have a dashboard you have been using for 10.x products, make the 11.1 metering data appear on the dashboard by opening the dropdown under Contract ID at the top left of the dashboard and then selecting your on prem Site ID. If you need help, contact your CSM.
Upgrade/Migrate On Prem Products to 11.1
After mid-January 2025, IBM will begin moving contacts and entitlements for existing Software AG customers and partners to IBM systems.

Rename of Software AG Cloud and URLs for SaaS
Software AG Cloud has been renamed IBM webMethods iPaaS. We will change the URLs for Software AG Cloud components to new URLs soon.
After the change, your existing URLs will continue to work. However, we will eventually deprecate the existing URLs. Before that deprecation date arrives, you will need to replace the URLs with the new URLs anywhere you saved those URLs, such as browser bookmarks.
We will provide dates for the URL changes and deprecation, and instructions on changing to the new URLs, as soon as possible.
Sustained Support Products
The products listed below continued to be available to existing customers through IBM’s Sustained Support Model. Details on their support dates are available on the IBM product lifecycle page https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/lifecycle/“
