    Hi instanauts,
    Instana users, IBM Champions and IBMer discussed how Instana can contribute the success of DevOps at Instanauts_jp, that is an Instana technical user community in Japan on October 10th.

    As part of this initiative, we concluded that it would be beneficial to measure DORA metrics(Four Keys metrics) via Instana would be advantageous. As such we have submitted it on a Aha! portal.

    Requests:
    "Add an integration with tools like GitHub/GitLab/Jenkins to track DORA Metrics(Four Keys Metrics) to

    visualize and improve software delivery performance."

    Why this matters:
    We use DORA Metrics (Four Keys Metrics) to help improve our software delivery processes by identifying areas to focus on and tracking progress. Other tools like Datadog and Dynatrace already support DORA Metrics, and we'd love to see Instana have this feature too, as it would really help us manage our development processes more efficiently.

      • The rate has been steadily increasing over the years. As of 2022, approximately 60% of companies reported implementing DevOps practices.

    • What is the DevOps trends?

      • One of the trends is DORA metrics.

    • What is DORA metrics aka Four Keys Metrics?

      • This is metrics to measure software delivery performance in DevOps

    • How Instana can contribute to measure DORA metrics?

      • Instana has some features (CI/CD pipeline feedback or intelligent remidiation) designed to improve DORA metrics; however, it lacks the capabilities to capture metrics(i.e. MTTR that is one of the DORA metrics) that determine whether those features are effective.

      • Also, Instana competing products such as DataDog and Dynatrace are able to measure DORA metrics as of today.

    • Requests：Add a feature to capture DORA metrics by Instana.

    Hi Isamu, are you sure that dynaTrace and DataDog are working on the same objectives? One is the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the other is DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA). Are you sure that these are the same thing? Thanks.
