Instana U

Hello,

We are currently engaged in POC of Instana with a financial institute.
We are trying to do on-prem installation in their server, but the problem is that they are not willing to provide a full internet access to their server. As far as my understanding we need to have an internet connectivity so that the docker would be able to fetch the containers. 

The Network department wants to know the links of the container where docker used to fetch its containers from. 

Can anyone please show me where I can find the links so that the Network dept could allow those links to be accessible.

Hello MJ,

It is not clear if you are planning the airgapped installation on docker or on Kubernetes/Openshift. Anyway, here are the links for both types of installations:

• docker: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/instana-observability/current?topic=installer-installing-instana-backend-docker#air-gapped-installation-on-a-target-host . 'instana images version' will tell you which containers you need
• K8S/OCP: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/instana-observability/current?topic=installing-preparing-air-gapped-installation . 'kubectl instana images' will tell you the images that you need

Hi MJ Hassan, feel free to try the air gap installation way:

Installing Instana backend on Docker

This way, first download the images to a server that can/should have an internet connection and then copy/export the files to target machine/server that doesn't have internet connection.
