The need for efficient and automated observability solutions is more critical than ever as technology adoption has surged, bringing forth new platforms such as microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud-native applications. Developers, Engineers, and IT operations face complex challenges in monitoring and observing their applications.
IBM Instana understands the complexity, hence the motivation to deliver automated, real-time insights into application performance, to enable businesses to enhance their operational efficiency with seamless user experiences. We’re excited to announce support to streamline on-prem observability with Self-hosted Standard Edition.
The Instana Self-Hosted Standard Edition offers ease of single-node installations. This edition offers air-gapped support and feature parity with the Instana SaaS. This includes optional features such as synthetics, action framework, logging, and biz-ops, all configurable to meet your specific needs. Additionally, it requires no Kubernetes expertise for setup or operation, ensuring everyone across your organization has access to the data they want with the context they need to deliver rapid issue prevention.
Instana Self-Hosted Standard Edition leverages the lightweight and efficient distribution of Kubernetes to provide an optimized platform. It supports simplified deployment and configuration and offers a command-line interface (CLI) for easy management.
The CLI allows you to:
- Start and stop the Instana cluster
- Manage the Instana agent for self-monitoring
- Manage backend installation and data stores
- Create and import air-gapped packages
To install the new version, just follow the installation steps to get started.
