The 2015 Mainframe Mobile App Throwdown is now open. The second iteration of the contest is accepting submissions of app prototypes that could help your company to drive business results, from helping customers to running your business more efficiently. The contest is designed to promote the development of mobile applications that connect to mainframe applications and data.
The contest is open to all z Systems clients and business partners, with final submissions due April 12. Prizes include a week of mobile design assistance from top IBM experts and passes to the IBM Edge 2015 conference in May. Winners will be announced at Edge 2015.
Those submitting a draft app by Feb. 19 will earn one-on-one time with an IBM zMobile Expert. Eligible registrants will also be entered into a bonus prize drawing for an iPad.
Once registered in the Mobile App Throwdown
, contestants need to come up with an app idea and build a prototype. Apps that relate closely to your company's area of business will be awarded extra credit. Registration includes a tech guide and other resources to help get started. Once an idea is fleshed out, submit a short video and short slide deck to explain the details of the app.
