In my case and specific version (IDS 12.10.FC12), if I follow the sequence, and do an update on a row afterwards, the bug ( APAR IT36873 - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IT36873) would force me to do a hard reboot of the machine, as the box would become completely frozen within 30 seconds of ...

Found it! Look for an additional email from iiug (IIUG-events <IIUG-events@iiug.org>) with the actual link. R ------------------------------ Ramon Rey ------------------------------

Mike, There is a link to register, then it redirects you to the iiug website to complete registration, which I've done. After that I never received an email with a link. R ------------------------------ Ramon Rey ------------------------------

Hello all, I was wondering if any one has any way to communicate with Cindy Lichtenauer, and let her know that her invite to the Latest enhancements in IBM Informix 14.10xC6 Webcast has no links in it. Same for the upcoming kernel, ER and SQL features, and IHQ and Backup from RS secondary webcasts. ...

Yes, that is the correct sequence! I would add to resolve the In-Place Alter, as, depending on your version, you might run into APAR IT36873: in-place alter table can lead to a flood of page out-of-seq errors in online.log when using CDC, which will freeze your system forcing for a hard reboot. I found ...

Sergio, Install the latest and greatest (which I think is 14.10.FC5, that comes with HQ 1.4), make a tar file of the $INFORMIXDIR/hq directory, and extract it in the servers you want to monitor. Remember, HQ comes standard with 14.10 and above, but you can monitor 12.10 and above with support from IBM/HCL. ...

Thanks Art and Paul, What I actually need to find is: Has a dbspace had its "sp_sizes modified", as per "EXECUTE FUNCTION task('modify dbspace sp_sizes', '3', '60000', '10000');"? If so, what were the create, extend and max extend sizes and/or percentages set to? I figure since the "EXECUTE ...

Howdy y'all! I understand what needs to be done to do make a dbspace auto extendable: Mark the chunk(s) extendable: DATABASE sysadmin; EXECUTE FUNCTION task("modify chunk extendable", "12"); Set the SP_THRESHOLD onconfig setting. Change how often the mon_low_storage task runs: DATABASE ...

Yes. Just copy the $INFORMIXDIR/hq directory from an IDS 14.10 installation to your 12.10 installation. I'd suggest 14.10.FC5 as it has the latest HQ release (1.4). As I was told by IBM support, HQ version 1.8 is coming with 14.10.FC6. Do watch for free/available memory. R ------------------------------ ...

Hello Cherry, I'm in the middle of working an issue (unrelated) about InformixHQ, and the engineer seem to stress about us running Java 1.8, so I'd say you are in the right track. Also, do watch the min and max memory allocations for the JVM, Xms and Xmx. I'm still testing it in my environment, but setting ...

@John Lengyel , I know I might be asking for much, but how about better documentation on ALL the tables in the sysmaster? Since I'm feeling a bit needy, how about IBM publishing the OFFICIAL SMI queries for each onstat command? ^_^ Thanks! Ramon ------------------------------ Ramon Rey ------------ ...

Andreas, Yes, isql is being used in a remote host. I'll test it on the local host to the DB server with dbaccess and report back. And, it is another DB on the same DB server. R ------------------------------ Ramon Rey ------------------------------

Hello @Art Kagel , On one hand, the table did get created and populated. On the other, I don't like weird errors when running in production. Would I be safe to assume that if I create a logged table, I wouldn't get the error? EDIT: I did remove the raw from the create table , and it still returns the ...

Howdy! I ran a SQL script, where I created a raw table as select statement, did so using isql from a client server, and I got this weird message where it should have said table created: Unknown error message 966. Any clue as to what might have happened? Thanks in advance. Ramón DB Server: IDS 12.10.FC10AEE ...

John, Syssessions is a view made off of the join of sysscblst and sysrstcb tables. The user host info comes from the sysscblst table. To my knowledge, there is no other place in the sysmaster that holds the hostname from the connecting session. As for sources outside the database, you could try chasing ...

Hello John: Not sure I understand your question. You want the hostname for a session with hostname = ::ffff:2? That seems to be a malformed address. Please clarify. Nonetheless, you can get the session and host along with other goodies from the syssessions in the sysmaster. https://www.ibm.com/suppo ...

Agreed. And should have happened in a PC/laptop on which the login user has admin rights. In my case, my laptop is a corporate laptop on which I don't have admin rights, which I believe to be the culprit for this issue. Something to keep in mind. Thanks again @Sheshnarayan Agrawal ! Cheers! R ----- ...

I did find and solve the issue!!! I needed to add INFORMIXDIR as a system environment variable!: - Close all setnet32 and Connect Test Demo. - Look for "edit the system environment variables". You'll need to be an admin or have an admin acct and password to do so. This will bring up the system properties ...
