  • New Db2 EAP(s2003191500) Build Available!

A new Db2 Early Access Program build is now available (s2001241500) for the next major release of Db2.

The following new features are included:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Make DPF ASYNC INDOUBT RESOLUTION the default everywhere:Changed the default for DB2_ASYNC_DPF_INDOUBT_
RESOLUTION reg var to ON. When set to ON, Db2 will repeatedly attempt to resolve indoubts asynchronously until all indoubts are resolved.
    2. Netezza compatiblity gaps coverage for DECMIAL and TIMESTAMP: Support Netezza new timestamp format of MM-DD-YYYY HH24:MM:SS / MM-DD-YYYY HH:MM:SS in Db2 and NPS mode as well. With this support casting empty string to DECIMAL returns 0 in NPS mode.

    3. Reverse NULL Ordering via Flag Control: Currently in Db2 we consider NULL values higher than any other values. With this feature being enabled NULLS will be considered as the smallest values in sorting. Enabling / Disabling of this is done via DB2_REVERSE_NULL_ORDER, by default its disabled.

4.Skip Locked Data Feature Enablement : This functionality introduces a new SQL clause, SKIP LOCKED DATA. This clause can be used in SELECT, UPDATE and DELETE statements. It is allowed under isolation level CS or RS. The functionality of skipping locked rows can be used as an option to dramatically minimize transaction suspension. It allows a transaction to skip over rows incompatibly locked by other transactions without being blocked.
