the customer needs to migrate from db2 linux with big endian to linux little endian
as backup/restore is not possible and to keep the migration time short, we proposed cdc to keep the little endian in synch and when migrating, just stop cdc and switch ip and connect  to new db
but the customer does not want to pay for cdc license
so we proposed sql replication to synch db as this is for free between db2 db
but the question is : can a client (in this case the apply) little endian connect to a db big endian or the other way round if we push the data to little endian. I presume yes, because windows is little endian and can connect to aix db..
    please comment..

    Hi Guy,

yes it is possible. Db2 will do a codepage translation after checkcing if the codepages are compatible.
I did the same scenario many years before. The main problem was to handle the tables leaving the sync status due to an error in replication.
For that it is better to have a further way to move data.
