Data Management Console monitoring databases on z/OS

  • 1.  Data Management Console monitoring databases on z/OS

    Hello,

Our current installation is for Data Server Manager running on a Linux server and connecting to databases on a z/OS platform

The new installation is Data Management Console running on a Linux server which is up and running successfully but I can't get it to connect to the databases on a z/OS platform. Is this not supported in DMC ? If not then what can the solution be as DSM is no longer supported ?

    Kind regards
    Angela Richards

    Hi Angela,

The DMC supports connections of the Z/OS Db2 databases, but only part of the components are able to consume the connections. With the connections of the Z/OS Db2 databases, you can run SQL queries, explore the database objects. But for some of the other components don't support these connections, like the monitor.

It needs to add a connection profile targeted to the database first, then you can try to manage it through the connection profile in DMC.

Would you please send us more details about your problem, where did you get the disconnected message in your case? Once you finishes adding the connection profile of the Db2 Z database, is that connectable when you test the connection?
    Thanks.
