Hi Su,
the audience are DBAs supporting the environment.
We have more than 30 DBAs supporting the environment, in different 3 main teams.
1. Physical DBAs - focused on service availability. keep db2 system running and available. (installation, configuration, bkups. etc... ) , This team uses the db-cfg and dbm-cfg reports.
2. Logical DBAs - focused in application and database performance ,
3. Application DBAs - dbas directly related to application business needs, which develops queries , SPs , etc for application usage.
So , Logical DBas support uses the performance reports to identify possible bottlenecks, and reach out to application team;DBAs to solve them.
-------------
Now, one report that is still missing on DSM, and which would be a GREAT addition on DMC is BACKUP history report, for all montiored DBs.
It would be wonderful to have something specific for Backups. a central panel would be even better, that shows the status for all dbs being monitored, related to backup healthy.
Something to aim to answer following questions:
1. Any recent backup failed to execute recently ?
2. Any db that did not take a backup recently ? In othe words, do I have a recent "good" backup ? ("recent" is a relative term, so this should be parametrized )
3. Where are the backups being taken.. DISK, which path, or TSM (which management class).
4. Report to retrieve latest backup information for a particular DB (having all these details) , and/or for all databases being monitored.
It would be wonderful if DMC caputerd all these kind of information, and save them into the repository.
so, we could have a central place to look if any backup failed, etc... and so on ...

Thanks Samuel for feedback! This information is helpful for us to prioritize the different reports. What's the audience for these reports and how it helps you in your daily work?

I am glad to hear that DSM reports are useful for you. May you be more specific on which particular reports do you use mostly? This will help us better understand the scenario and prioritize the work in DMC roadmap to address them early.

I don' see the "Reports" listed in the known limitations list.
On DSM we had useful reports, Are they in the road-map for future releases ?
Regards

The Technical Preview of the Db2 Data Management console is an early look at were we are taking the Data Server Manager console in the future. It is not yet a full offering. There are a number of specific known limitations you should be aware of. You can post comments on these limitations in this thread.
