MongoDB provides a general purpose, document-based, distributed data base built to store data in JSON-like documents. The solution includes a comprehensive suite of tools, making work with data easier for everyone, from developers, analyst or modern application developers in the era of cloud.  MongoDB Enterprise Server meets security and compliance standards with Kerberos and LDAP authentication, audit trails for forensic analysis, and encryption of data at-rest, all natively integrated to the database. These features are complemented by role-based access control, PKI certificates, TLS/SSL encryption, read-only views and field-level redaction.

IBM has partnered with Mongo DB to offer the IBM Data Management Platform for MongoDB Enterprise Advanced.  This modern database platform extends MongoDB capabilities to support mission-critical, highly secure and always-on enterprise deployments. These capabilities support the database lifecycle, including development, secure access, analysis, deployment and management, and the capability to scale as data requirements grow and change. The IBM Hybrid Data Management Platform supports virtualized access through federation across many data management platform environments, including MongoDB. This allows proper use, management, and protections across data using a single management strategy.
