This topic looks at the method for adding columns to a primary key, both to the table and to the primary index, by using the Db2 Admin Tool ALT command. The complete change can be made using a single ALT command.

When you add a column to (or remove a column from) a primary key, the underlying index that enforces that constraint needs to be changed at the same time. (This index is called the primary index.) You can use Db2 Admin Tool to make both changes.
