Highlights: September 17-18 IBM Financial Services Cloud Council Event – New York City

How exciting to be part of the IBM Financial Services Cloud Council event at IBM’s newest, state-of-the-art office space in New York City at One Madison Avenue. The September in-person event brought together over 80 participants, with representatives from 40 organizations including banks, regulators, trade associations, partners, fintechs and IBM industry experts.

The event theme focused on A New Era of Innovation and Operational Resilience Powered by Cloud and AI.

Day 1: Exploring innovations and opportunities on the horizon

Speakers joined from the U.S. Treasury Department, McKinsey & Company, Cloud Security Alliance, BNP Paribas and KPMG.  

The discussions covered the opportunities ahead for banking in the areas of cloud, AI, security and risk, capitalizing on using new technologies - challenges/opportunities - in building sustainable business cases, building the gen AI value case and defining the guardrails, and transforming banking with the power of cloud.

Day 2:  Assessing the realities of the regulatory and risk environment

Speakers joined from OSFI, OCC, FDIC, PNC, FS-ISAC, ABA, Vanguard, Machinelab Ventures, plus 10 fintechs.

The conversations continued with regulatory perspectives on cloud computing and operational resilience, the importance of industry collaboration in accelerating cloud adoption, and preparing for quantum.  

Both days were filled with opportunities to learn, network, engage and have some fun!
