This talk will describe the recently released IBM Semeru Java Virtual Machine for ARM64 for JDK 8, JDK 11, and JDK 17. An overview of the emerging ARM64 architecture will be provided as well as use cases for the platform. We'll describe features of the IBM Semeru Java runtime that make it highly suitable for ARM64 environments (e.g., for use in Liberty deployments), and share performance results, release plans, and future development work. We would also like to hear from participants what their interest and expected use cases for the platform are, and take any suggestions for features or new application domains to explore.
