Environmental Intelligence Suite

Earlier this week, IBM product manager Yool Park posted the recent collaborative article from Pedernales Electric and IBM on the market-changing advantage of technology to improve network reliability through IBM Vegetation Management.  See the post here:  here

With the use of a powerful, scalable new form of imagery called "Geiger-Mode LiDAR", Pedernales has been able to transform work processes and eliminate the need for cycle-based maintenance, instead transitioning to 100% condition-based vegetation maintenance with the help of IBM's Environmental Intelligence Suite.  For years, this kind of insight was not possible for large electric distribution companies, do to the immense area of coverage and the associated costs & time to deliver, but IBM and the use of this new LiDAR have introduced a market-changing way to do business.
