As part of IBM’s continued investment and enhancement of its Environmental Intelligence Suite (EIS) we would like to announce some improvements and general changes in the product.

Updates to Industry Solutions
NEW: Solution Accelerators and Renewables Energy Forecasting
Environmental Intelligence Suite now has a new component available, Solution Accelerators, which unlocks a new set of capabilities designed for configuration and flexibility that enhances the existing Environmental Intelligence Suite offerings. With Solution Accelerators, organizations can combine the insights from the weather and climate applications with their analytical models to create custom dashboards and workflows configured to the needs of the users through work queues and resolutions features. With Solution Accelerators,, an endless number of weather and climate solutions can be created to fit the needs of varied industries.
Renewables Energy Forecasting is an industry solution that can be delivered through the Operations Center. Renewables Energy Forecasting generates high-accuracy forecasts of wind and solar farm assets. AI and advanced analytics, sophisticated instrumentation, and best-in-class weather data help utility operators increase the integration of renewables into the grid while optimizing operational efficiencies, resiliency, and reliability.

Updates to Data Services
Historical Data for Analytical Tools (HDAT) API:
We are increasing capabilities and driving better performance for HDAT r2 API including:
The API will query existing global hourly data as it arrives, with min/max/avg response values will be calculated at the time of the request, and leveraging Location Services removing the previous geographic coverage limitations

History on Demand - Direct (HoD Direct) API

End of Support for CFSR API
The Climate Forecast System Reanalysis (CFSR) API is set to reach end of support on June 30, 2023. Customers can migrate to gridded Currents on Demand (gCOD) as a result. Please email email@example.com and include the subject line "CFSR Migration" so we can swiftly address any concerns you may have.
COMING SOON: Alerts Console or former Weather Company Alerts (WCA) users
We are diligently working towards an exciting new alerts platform that will reimagine Alerts Console as it is today. While this functionality will not be available likely until the end of 1Q with customer migration and onboarding in 2Q we want to make you aware of these new changes. A few things will change including the introduction of new functionality such as Alert Rule Builder, Message Template Builders, Criteria Builder and even Authentication measures. New concepts will be introduced for a more robust user experience that will be extended to other aspects of EIS for a common cross-suite alerting experience. Some of these new concepts include:
Alert Rules determine what criteria alerts will be triggered on and the method for delivery
Groups are no longer explicit, but the concept can be replicated thus allowing for more flexibility within the system
Registrations are realized with contacts and contacts with Alert Subscriptions

Geospatial Analytics capabilities
EIS Geospatial Analytics (formerly known as PAIRS) has taken its next steps to move to an improved cloud infrastructure. These enhancements will help EIS Geospatial Analytics grow its support for datasets, scale more dynamically for high workloads, improve resiliency and availability from potential disruptions, and to easily integrate with weather and other software solutions.
In addition, the previous PAIRS user interface (UI) will be removed at the end of 1H 2023 (for all customers that are not currently using the UI) as we adjust our combined UI strategy per customer feedback.
