Even when the promised GUI support comes to WSL 2 I cannot see you having much luck, there is a fair bit of I/O configured in ZD&T for example the networking adds another (TAP0) network adapter that is needed. VMWare is a known working config, and would perform ok - two big areas which help ZD&T performance are memory and fast disk (use SSD/M.2 - spinning disks hurt IO). If you are struggling for hardware, the cloud support eg RedHat OpenShift is great for ZD&T (Wazi Sandbox), and a quick google and you will find install docs for ZD&T on AWS and Azure too.

Subject: ZD&T Under Windows 10 WSL 2 ?
Thanks for the reply Rod - I know that WSL 2 is a giant leap above the original WSL and that a recent Windows update added more enhancements to WSL 2. I would prefer to use WSL 2 if possible, but will use VMWare if that is my only option.
As for a docker - I'm not familiar with how to configure Windows 10 to use it (would love a link).
From a performance perspective which is better: VMWare, Docker, or WSL 2?

I tried to see if it would install a while back on Win 10 WSL, and could not get the installer to run. As you figured out, not support nor documentation to try and help get it working either. Do you have the option to run it under VMWare Workstation on Win 10 (that works for me), or other virtualisation technology. Else docker is a supported configuration too.

Will ZD&T running z/OS work under Windows 10 WSL 2?
