YUM installation issue for curl with ssl packages

    We have been installing YUM on all of our infrastructure, but for few systems we are failing to install yum due to below main problems.

    1. The systems already have some open source rpms installed like (curl-7.9.3-3ssl.ppc,curl-7.47.1-3ldapssl) , for these open source packages no update packages are available in AIX toolbox.
    2. So while upgrading normal packages gets updated on top these ssl packages and clients application is failing.
    3. If we try to update these specific packages using latest rpms (downloaded from bullfreeware), the python packages were failing with library issues.

    Please guide us on this issue and how to proceed further.

    Make sure you use AIX Toolbox for all the rpms. Mixing with rpms from other sources like bullfreeware, perlz will create issues like this.

    The solution is to remove the problematic rpms and install them from the AIX Toolbox.
