yum broken after upgrade to AIX 7200-05-10-2520.

    Hello,

I have the following error execution yum after having applied SP10 on AIX 7.2 TL5 :

    [root@CUTEST01:/] # yum
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

rtld: 0712-001 Symbol lua_newuserdata was referenced
from module /usr/opt/rpm/lib/librpmio.so(), but a runtime definition
of the symbol was not found.

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
    2.7.15 (default, Sep 28 2018, 03:58:41)
    [GCC 6.3.0]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
    the yum faq at:
      http://yum.baseurl.org/wiki/Faq

I also applied new rpm.rte fileset version 4.15.1.1016 because of velnerabilities in version 4.15.1.1015 installed with SP10.

Everything was working fine with SP9 and rpm.rte version 4.15.1.1013 of the fileset.

Is there any fix or workaround to get yum functional again ?

    Regards

I got exactly the same error as I haven't migrated my LPARs across to use dnf. It was still using yum at SP09.

Since migrating the yum to dnf before applying SP10 which included the latest version of RPM, the issue went away.

    Hope this helps you.

    All the best.
