XsdanyTypeIS record or IS object

    I am using a wsdl document to create a webservice connector. The wsdl is created from a webSphere webservice. From looking at this tag <part> In IS, I was expecting to see a variable called obj with a type of object in the input/output tab. Instead, IS created a variable called obj with a type of record. Two questions: is xsd:anyType a record in IS by default. Also, should I change the record to object if I need it to be an object. I currently have the all the required service packs and fixes installed.
