I got a question from a customer. They have WTX 8.1.0.2 and run today with Oracle 9 in a 32bits server. They are upgrading to Sparc64 and Oracle 10g, but WTX does not work in such environment. They have tried to run an Oracle 9 client in the 32bits server where WTX is running, but it does not work either - the 32 bits client does not like the 64bits server.

When I look at WTX documentation it says that it supports SPARC, and it supports Oracle 10. It also says that in 8.2 connectivity is enhanced with the adoption of WebSphere Adapters. WebSphere TX is now available on selected 64-bit platforms in tolerance mode.

What can I recommend the customer to do?

    Thanks in advance! Best regards,
    Patricia

Just some additional info. I'm the one working with this issue at the customer's site.
What we've found out so far is that Oracle 10g for Sun Sparc 64-bit doesn't come with any 32-bit libraries at all. There are only 64-bits available.
We've been in production with the Oracle 9i installation with the WTX 8.1.0.2 since October last year and everything is working excellent (the hardware platform is exactly the same - Sparc 64).

I also wanted to say that we're trying to trick the WTX by using Oracle 9i libraries in order to connect to the db but we're getting some errors like "getServiceByName" in the IO_DEBUG-file.

If anyody knows the answer to this problem - please help.
