    WebSphere Transformation Extender (WTX) SAP R/3 JALE adapter outbound map creates zero byte backup files. I have enabled backup option in the ifd output card setttings. I am not sure why it generated backup files as zero byte files. But output is sent to SAP through JALE adaptor without any issues.

    I would suggest enabling the map audit and reviewing the resulting audit log to make sure you've deployed the correct msl.  In the audit log, for the associated output card, you want to see an entry similar to:

    <OutputData card="4">
       <Backup switch="ON"   when="Always"   action="Create">
          <Path>C:\IBM\WebSphere Transformation Extender 8.4.1\examples\general\ifd\launcher\Mer_launcher_92001438622132_3.O4.bak</Path>
       </Backup>

    In this above example, it shows that output card 4 does have output backup enabled and it generated a backup file of \launcher\Mer_launcher_92001438622132_3.O4.bak

    It's possible that you have enabled the output backup but the msl you're executing is not the most recent one.  Did you redeploy the msl and restart the launcher after enabling the output backup?

    Also in addition to the above, it depends on how the adapter call is being made. Are you doing it directly in the output card properties or are you calling it via a run map or put/get function call etc? What version of WTX are you using. If you have looked at everything and still see an issue, may be best to look into opening a PMR for further research.
