These two colums are fixed based on the longest length of the receiving fields. In Old Mercator, you can adjust these two columns, but I can't find the way to do it in New Design Studio of WTX 8.2.0.4.

The Rule column depends on the length of the "output" field (like when you double click on the Cell in Excell document, the cell expands by the length of characters in that cell).

Yes, it does. It allows the user to configure the max number of characters displayed on the right hand column. It defaults to 64 characters. Doesn't mean you will always see that many characters as the column widths change based on the max width of the Output column as you point out. If you see no difference when you change it, perhaps you need a wider screen or longer map rules. 8-)

I always stretch WTX across two widescreen monitors so it almost always makes a difference for me.

If you look at the output card, you can see that the bar automatically moves to accomodate the largest "output" field and therefore cuts off the "rule" fields. That makes it a little difficult when you have a large number of output fields and the longest are down farther than where you need to be looking for a specific rule field. Since the screen adjusts for the longest ouput, it can be difficult to find the rule you are looking for when a lot of it is cut off the right side of the screen.

You want TWO monitors, not one big one. 19" = $100US each. The goal is lots of characters, not bigger characters. Two screens eliminates the issue with the output card real estate and the inability to control the column widths. You spread Eclipse over both screens. And when WTX crashes, it's more dramatic then a single screen crash. 8-)
