While starting the appplication server, we do the initialization of data by fetching records(approx 8000 records) from the database. We found that app server goes in hang state and gives us a timeout error as mentioned below.

Further details on issue : Websphere version 8.5.5 & Installed on Solaris 10.

Function used in java class file : com.cnm.listener.AppContextListener.contextInitialized(AppContextListener.java:105)
Fetches data from 3 tables . First table we get 7980 records completely
From second table we get 8 records
From Third table we get 60 records out of 108 records.

    Further investiigation :
While further testing, we found that if we restrict less than 60 records ( we did only 8 records), we dont get the above error. Server gets initialized and starts working. We are able to launch the server/access it over the Web (although with partial functionality)

We suspect some setting/configuration issue at websphere. Kindly help.

The error from webspere is as below  :

    WSVR0605W: Thread "Default : 0" (00000069) has been active for 729989 milliseconds and m
ay be hung.  There is/are 1 thread(s) in total in the server that may be hung.

    Hi ramana,

How are you getting the records, using a DataSource? If yes please put your configuration.

      Are you using some framework?

The error is caused by a timeout but who is launching the timeout, WAS, Oracle DB, some firewall/router/switch between them? You need to collect timeouts settings.

Before the error the server continue starting? are you getting open for e-business?

      Thanks.

    regards
