  • 1.  Windows STAP Getting Inactive

    Hello All, 

    we are running WinSTAP  11.2_r110200159_1 and it was working fine from past One month, But from past 5 days STAP is  getting Inactive on Guardium Appliance. On Server All STAP related process are active and in working condition and we can even telnet from collector to DB server over Gim/STAP ports.  NOW, when we select the IP and change any Parameter for stap configuration and install it,  the STAP Agent become active and we start receiving traffic.
    what can be the cause or how we can permanently solve the issue ?

    Tehseen,

    This is a known bug with this version of Windows S-TAP, we also experienced this issue and worked with support to address. At this time there is a work around documented within this APAR (https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/GA17340?cm_sp=swgother-_-OCSSMPHH-_-E&mync=E&mynp=OCSSMPHH&myns=swgother) that worked for us. We were instructed by support that the issue would be resolved in the next S-TAP release. I would suggest you modify the guard_tap.ini file(s) based on the link above for the time being until the next S-TAP is released.
