    2) I have tried to Log-Out but gets you a warning about tasks still running and then does nothing.

    • Should I just delete the Browser Tab at that point and log back in?
    • Would that leave user sessions hanging?

    1) When you say GUI gets stuck, what do you mean? It is not responding at all or is it taking longer than expectation? If it is the later case, than it is a performance issue. We are working on doing performance improvements. It would help if you can provide more information like,

    • Steps performed
    • Screenshot when the GUI where it was stuck
    • Number of managed systems, partitions

    2) If you close the browser tab the logged in user session would expire after 20 mins.

    Thanks and regards,

Unfortunately, this Forum does not allow pictures to be uploaded so no screen shots.  Seems rather strange to put a picture some where else on the WWW just to get a picture here!!

Number of machines / LPARs about 14 and 40 - I can't tell you as its still stuck on Loading.......

Opened a new Tab and continued using the GUI but

Machine in Gallery view  , selected one machine then clicked "Pin the page" and Loading .... 5 minutes and gave up

By the way: it sometimes says "loading ..." and some times says "Loading ..."  not a major issue but lets clean that up too!

    Cheers, Nigel

I've not tried the new GUI yet, but I've run into odd behavior depending upon bowser security and system security settings.

I'm running IE11 in enhanced security mode with very limited script execution. Even the main IBM site displays incorrectly.  I have to use Firefox with all security turned off to access HMC's fully.

We shall look into the performance issue.

BTW, you can attach a file by using "Attache a file" option. The option is just following this text area.

    Thanks and regards,

    Thanks for this useful information.

The release 830.0 will be the first GA for the new GUI and thus has been much more tested especially for performance/scalability use cases.

So we have fix a lot of issues in 830 release related to:

    1- Table/gallery views performances

2- Other general GUI performance issues and cache management

3- Disconnected sessions (which would lead to a display of the logging page)

    4- GUI Error management

So I am afraid you will need to wait for the official GA version in order to have a much more stable GUI version.

Just to let you understand better:

If the loading message is remaining for a very long time and finally the page is loaded, this is definitively a performance issue, this will be better in 830.

If the loading message is remaining for ever, that is probably because of an error. In that case do not hesitate to provide a copy of the browser console.log

In order to do do that:

    * open the browser development toolbar (F12 on all the three browser Chrome, FF and IE11 or right click + Inspect Element )
    * open the console tab (same name for all the three browsers)
    * if there are some error (in red) not expanded, please expand them in order to see the detail of the error.
On Chrome you will need to select manually all the lines, then right click + Copy
On FF, right click + select All, then right click + Copy
On IE11: right click + Copy All

Also if you are blocked in one page, just try to refresh the web page with its scripts (Ctrl +F5).

Finally please note we have opened two additional defects related to the Pin feature and the Loading messages.

    Thanks and regards,

    Philippe.
