Asking this because I believe that ours is a bit high.  I looked up the benchmark amount on Gartner, but I'm curious to know the specific costs across multiple organizations and industries.  Thank you!

That's correct. Apptio's IT Benchmarking product has the 'IT Spend per Employee' metric that might be what you are looking for.
