    Let me know what would you choose for dev / test env and also some production servers (not critical)

    Blades are designed primarily as a way to provide physical consolidation of multiple servers. So if you needed multiple individual servers, then blades are a good answer. Remember that each blade must be placed in a BladeCenter, so if you only need one or two servers, then you might be better off with p6-520s.

    520 tend to have more I/O choices that blades, for example supporting 12x Infinband Remote I/O drawers. The 520 also supports Hardware Management Console (HMC) management and redundant Virtual I/O Servers. In contrast, the Power6 blades use the Integrated Virtual I/O Server (IVM) and do not currently support redundant VIOS servers.
