What is the best way to position IBM Cloud Pak, Envizi, and Maximo together for ESG and sustainability initiatives?

Use IBM Cloud Pak for data integration, Envizi for ESG data insights, and Maximo for operational efficiency.

Focus only on IBM Cloud Pak for all ESG and operational needs.

Use Envizi for operational management and Maximo for ESG reporting.

Rely solely on Maximo for both ESG insights and operational efficiency.

Maximo captures operational data at the source. It tracks energy consumption (electricity, gas, water) and asset performance from meters and equipment across your facilities. Through the Maximo Connector for Envizi, this data automatically flows to Envizi.

Envizi consolidates ESG data from Maximo and other sources across your organization, calculates Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and handles regulatory reporting. It's your single source of truth for ESG performance.

Cloud Pak for Data provides the AI and analytics layer. It blends ESG data with operational and financial KPIs, applies machine learning to predict trends, and identifies optimization opportunities.

So: Maximo captures operational reality, Envizi manages and reports ESG data, and Cloud Pak for Data delivers AI-driven insights to optimize your sustainability strategy. This integration eliminates manual data collection, ensures accuracy in compliance reporting, and enables proactive decision-making for asset-intensive organizations.

    Hi Zoe,

I hope this finds you well.

You may recall responding to a question I posted on IBM Community in November 2025 - on how best to position IBM Cloud Pak, Envizi, and Maximo together for ESG and sustainability initiatives. Your response was one of the clearest articulations of that stack I encountered at the time, and it shaped how our team approached the architecture we subsequently built.

I wanted to close that loop - and share where that conversation led.

Since that post, TIS Holdings has completed a proof of concept with IBM Build Lab EMEA, deploying an integration between watsonx Orchestrate and IBM Envizi using IBM's Agent Builder. Our IBM partner, Nikhil Thakkar, worked with us to build the agent layer that enables real-time GHG emissions disclosure, with Envizi serving as the audit-grade reporting backbone. The principle we validated: TIS owns the governance and calculation layer; IBM provides the intelligence infrastructure.

We have recently launched the IntelliMat ESG Innovation Circle on IBM Community - a practitioner-focused group for African and global professionals working at the intersection of ESG, GRC, and enterprise AI on IBM platforms. Our team is young, forward-looking, and deeply committed to building on IBM's ecosystem the right way.

I would be honoured to have you as a voice in that community - whether as a guest contributor, a discussion participant, or simply a presence our members can learn from. You are exactly the kind of IBM Champion we want our practitioners exposed to.

Thank you again for that response last year. It mattered more than you may have known.

    Warm regards,

    Hi Dr Terry,

Thank you so much for this kind message. It really means a lot to hear that my response was helpful and had an actual impact on your team's thinking - that's more than I could have hoped for! And, it's an encouraging example of how conversations on the IBM Community can turn into something practical and meaningful.

It's great to hear about the work TIS Holdings has been doing with IBM Build Lab EMEA, watsonx Orchestrate, and Envizi. The way you've brought together governance, automation, and audit-grade ESG reporting is exactly the kind of applied innovation that makes these discussions worthwhile - and sounds genuinely interesting. I've also now joined the IntelliMat ESG Innovation Circle, and I'm looking forward to following the conversations there and contributing where I can of course.

Thanks again for reaching back out and for the thoughtful invitation - it's very touching. I'm glad the original discussion helped shape your architecture, and I wish you and the team every success with the next stage of the journey. Stay in touch.
