Hi everyone - I'm Christian Strutt, founder a full-service digital marketing agency in Milton Keynes specialising in SEO, PPC, social media, web design, and AI-driven automation. We're a small but ambitious agency that's been integrating automation into nearly every aspect of our work - and now we're exploring how IBM technology could take that to the next level.
At present, our automation stack runs on Make.com (formerly Integromat), ChatGPT, and the OpenAI API.
Using these tools, we've built powerful workflows that automatically generate SEO reports, content, schedule and publish social media posts, and even draft content ideas based on trending keywords. For example, our system can analyse client website data, identify optimisation opportunities, and send automated briefs to our team Slack channels - saving hours of manual analysis. On the social side, we've built workflows that plan, write, and publish content across multiple platforms using AI-powered content templates.
While these solutions have been fantastic for experimentation and speed, we're now looking to upgrade to an enterprise-grade ecosystem - something more scalable, secure, and intelligent. This is where IBM's suite of automation and AI solutions really interests us.
From what I've seen, IBM offers a diverse range of tools under its AI and Automation portfolio, including IBM Watsonx, IBM Process Mining, IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation, and IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA). These seem capable of integrating not just marketing workflows, but also CRM, lead tracking, and even customer experience management. As we move into 2026, I'd like to evolve Milton Keynes Marketing into a fully automated digital agency - one that blends creativity with enterprise-grade efficiency.
Right now, our main objectives are:
-
Automating client onboarding and reporting: We'd love to integrate client data from Google Analytics, Meta Ads, and Search Console into a centralised dashboard powered by AI insights.
-
Streamlining sales outreach: Currently, we rely on manual prospecting and personalised email writing. Could IBM Watson or an automation framework help us scale intelligent, context-aware outreach while preserving authenticity?
-
Enhancing campaign optimisation: We're exploring how machine learning could automatically adjust bidding strategies, social ad budgets, and SEO recommendations in real time.
-
Improving internal collaboration: Make.com handles workflow handoffs well, but we need something more robust and secure for cross-departmental automation, ideally integrated with Slack or Microsoft Teams.
So my question for the IBM community is: which IBM solutions or combinations would you recommend to support this level of automation?
We're especially interested in how IBM's AI infrastructure (like Watsonx.ai and Watson Orchestrate) could replace or enhance our current use of OpenAI and Make.com. Would IBM Robotic Process Automation be a suitable upgrade for managing marketing and sales workflows? Could IBM's cloud-based solutions offer better data governance and scalability for growing agencies like ours?
I'd love to hear your experiences, success stories, or best-practice advice from anyone who's used IBM technology to automate marketing, content, or client management processes. Our goal isn't to replace creativity with code - it's to use smarter automation to free up time for the creative, human side of marketing.
Thanks in advance to the IBM community for any insights, tool recommendations, or implementation guidance you can share!
Best regards, Christian Strutt
