    Probably very basic questions, but did you do LPM from a P6+ server to the P7 ? Or maybe the release of AIX 5.3 you have installed does not support Power 7 ?

    The processor mode is an attribute of the partition. With it the system chooses -of many things- how many logical processors per core (SMT). AIX v5.3 only support two threads/core... newer versions support four/core.
