Is there any expert who can deeply explains where this serverid comes in play in was 6.1 and above when it is automatically generated with administrative security?
I see everywhere that it is used in inter server communication and has a relation with LTPA.


is it compatible with cellswith serverid in the registry (was 6.0 and under) ?

MY primary focus is for ejb but extends to LTPA in genral across cells.

Hi,
When you activated security you have the choice between manual Server Identity and automatically generated Server Identity.
Since WAS 6.1 Automatic Server Identity is default choice. I want to understand where this server identity is used in websphere during communications between servers and if it make sense to use it (automatic) when you set Identity Assertion as its value is unknown.
