I understand why you’re asking this, but this is a difficult question to answer due to the vastness of the products and features.
If it gives you comfort -
- This is a minor-version upgrade
- There’s just one minor-version in-between that you are “skipping” so to speak
- There has been a lot of effort put in over the years, to make upgrades easier and smoother
Reading between the lines - Components are cross-compatible across versions, which I’d personally take as a positive statement. Check the version interoperability matrix for details.
Tip - Peruse the readme files to see what exactly has changed in 10.5 and 10.7 and assess if there’s something specific that will affect you. Use the Pre-upgrade Analyzer tool, published on forums. There’s a whole chunk of documentation available for Upgrade.
Caveat - Be aware that if you choose to upgrade only to 10.5 now, then the upgrade question will pop up again next year, since 10.5 runs into end-of-maintenance in October 2022.
