We are having issues with yum on the AIX server. We are trying to remediate a SAMBA vulnerability. However, yum looks broken on the server. When I run yum command, I am getting below error. Need assistance fixing this issue.
(terpdb1) /opt/freeware/lib # yum
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:
Could not load module /opt/freeware/lib/libglib-2.0.a(libglib-2.0.so.0).
Dependent module /opt/freeware/lib/libiconv.a(libiconv.so.2) could not be loaded.
Member libiconv.so.2 is not found in archive
Could not load module /opt/freeware/lib/python2.7/site-packages/_sqlitecache.so.
Dependent module /opt/freeware/lib/libglib-2.0.a(libglib-2.0.so.0) could not be loaded.
Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.
It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.7.13 (default, Oct 17 2017, 05:37:56) [C]
If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:
http://yum.baseurl.org/wiki/FaqWe are going from samba version 4.6 to the latest in the AIX Toolbox 4.14.12. This worked on several other server without a hitch. We do have a backup of /opt/freeware, but did not know if that was a good idea to restore, if you can comments on that too.
Also, none of the samba commands work currently and that is a problem. We can't even start samba
/opt/freeware/bin/smbstatus
Could not load program /opt/freeware/bin/smbstatus:
Dependent module libdcerpc-server-core.so could not be loaded.
Could not load module libdcerpc-server-core.so.
